Arvind Modawal, MD, MPH, MRCGP

Dr Modawal is a board certified Geriatrician and Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Geriatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Dr Modawal sees patients and consults at the University Hospital Geriatric Evaluation Center and is the medical director for two nursing homes in Cincinnati. He is also co-director of primary care clinic of University Family Physicians at University Pointe in West Chester. He is a faculty tutor and Associate director for the University of Cincinnati Health Alliance -Reynolds Physician Training Center for Geriatrics.

He completed a two-year fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1996. He is board certified in Family Practice and Geriatric medicine. Dr Modawal also has a master’s degree from Harvard University School of Public Health in Clinical Effectiveness. He is a member of American Geriatrics Society, American Academy of Family Medicine and Royal College of General Practitioners of London, Great Britain.

Dr Modawal attended medical school in India. He subsequently had postgraduate sub-specialty training in Internal Medicine, Family Practice including Geriatric Medicine and Psychiatry in the National Health Service of Great Britain.

Dr Modawal is active in medical education, patient care and geriatric research. He has written book chapters and published in several peer reviewed journals.

He has an academic interest in the area of Falls Prevention and Balance problems, Geriatric Assessments, Dizziness and Syncope in older adults, Dementia care and Complex Disease Management in the elderly. He serves on Hamilton County ‘Falls Prevention Task Force’ to reduce falls among seniors. He is also a host and presenter on Senior Health Scope on WMKV 89.3 radio station and spoken at many local, national and international meetings on geriatric topics.
