Heart Attack

A heart attack (myocardial infarction) is the result of a mismatch between the heart's demand for blood and the blood vessel's ability to provide it. If a blood vessel closes off or spasms and prevents the blood from getting to the heart, the heart muscle may be without oxygen or nutrients and may become damaged. This results in a heart attack.
