FDA Announces Rule Prohibiting Sale of Dietary Supplements Containing Ephedrine Alkaloids

ATTENTION:  Dietary supplements containing Ephedrine Alkaloids (may be sold as Ephedra or Ma Huang) was removed from the US market on April 12, 2004 due to potentially fatal safety concerns.

FDA RECOMMENDATION:  Avoid consumption of products containing Ephedrine Alkaloids (may be sold as Ephedra or Ma Huang) as they pose an unreasonable risk to health.
