No response yet to Taxotere
I`m 86 and have hormone-refractory metastatic prostate cancer. I have undergone one treatment of Taxotere and just got my PSA results that reflect that treatment. My PSA went up from 20 to 26.1. Does that mean the Taxotere likely will not bring my PSA down, or might it take several more treatments before we know for sure? Does one treatment of Taxotere often bring the PSA down?
Usually it takes a few treatments of any drug before changes are noted. Physicians usually give 2 to 4 cycles of therapy before assessing whether or not it is working.
