Liver Failure From Cancer06/05/2008 |
My dad is dying from primary liver cancer. His feet and all the way up to above his knee is now bloated. We have been using hospice. What I want to know is what other symptons are there that shows us the liver is not longer working? And also, do you have an approximate length of time that patients at this point live?
Sorry to hear about your father.I cannot answer the second part of your question without more information.
In terms of other symptoms that show that his liver is failing:
- Confusion
- Turning yellow (jaundice)
- Tiredness
- Marked muscle wasting
These would be three “big” things you might see in someone with liver failure.
Again, with the limited information you provided, I cannot be more specific. You should address these issues with his oncologist or liver doctor.
