Epinephrine03/22/2010 |
What is the reason for injecting a very small amount of epinephrine with the dental anesthetics?
Epinephrine is used to increase the duration and effectiveness of local anesthesia, particularly in the upper jaw. It also allows for better bleeding control if the epinephrine is injected around the surgical site when extractions or other surgeries are done in the mouth.
